Dashing Housewife Because Of The Brave Collection

Hello my lovely lacquer lovers. I am incredibly upset with myself right now. Pregnancy brain has made me completely forget about two posts that are SO overdue that I wouldn't be surprised if these two indie makers never asked me to swatch for them again :-(. One of those indie makers is Dashing Housewife Polish, and I'm going to be sharing five polishes from her "Because Of The Brave" collection today. This post should have been posted such a long time ago, and had I not been searching through my indie stash for colors for my Thanksgiving nails and saw these, I would probably still completely have forgotten these. So without ANY further delay.... let's get to the polish.... finally.

Fist up we have "Semper Fi" which is a clear base glitter topper with yellow and red glitters in all shapes and sizes. I love being able to use this polish over a few different colors, but for my swatch I used two coats of "Semper Fi" over three coats of Polish Addict Nail Color "Bright White". Formula on this was good. I didn't have to fish for any of the glitters and it all smoothes out nicely on the nail. Dry time was also great for this one.

Next up is a polish very near to my heart, "Wild Blue Yonder", which is a blue jelly based polish with silver and holographic glitters in different shapes and sizes. This one is near to my heart because both my father and my husband were/are in the Air Force, and Air Force life is basically the only life I know. I also helped DreAnn name this polish, so there's that too lol. This polish is perfect for the Air Force. DreAnn nailed it with this one. Formula and dry time were great on this one as well. I used three coats with top coat for my picture.

Next up is "Watchmen", which is a white crelly base with different shapes and sizes of red and blue glitters throughout. There is also a slight sparkle to this polish, which if you look closely at my swatch you can kind of see, but it was hard for me to capture. Formula on this one is perfect, as are all of the crellys that I own from Dashing Housewife Polish. No fishing for glitters, and plenty of glitter coverage. Dry time was also great on this one. I used three coats with top coat for my pictures.

Next up is "Kiss Me Sailor", which is a light blue jelly base with blue holographic glitters, and various shapes and sizes of blue and yellow glitters, including yellow triangles. I really love the way this polish builds up, and how you can still see the glitters showing through each layer. Again, formula and dry time were great, with no glitter fishing required, except for some of the triangles. Turning your bottle upside down for 5-10 mins before application will help get them out much easier though. I used three coats with top coat for my picture.

Lastly we have "Hooah", which is a black jelly base with gold holographic glitters, as well as other gold and yellow glitters in various shapes and sizes. I really love this one! It's perfect for me because I am a New Orleans Saints fan, and this polish is a beautiful polish for a Saints mani on gameday :-). Formula and dry time, as with the others, was perfect and no fishing was required for glitters. I used three coats with top coat for my picture.

So what do you think of these military inspired polishes? Are you, or someone you know and love a part of any of these branches? I think these polishes represent each branch perfectly, but are still wonderful colors even without any affiliation with the military. I don't know just yet if DreAnn is planning on having any Black Friday sales, but if she does you need to be following her on instagram @dashing_housewifepolish or on Facebook here so that you don't miss out if she does. If you think you need any of these polishes, that sale (If she has it) will be the perfect time to get them. Even if she doesn't have a sale though, her polishes are priced so great that you should get them anyway. You can do that by visiting her shop here. I hope you enjoyed this post! Until next time, happy polishing!
